Best Restaurant In Delhi Asian In The AM: Captain Chang in Vasant Kunj Located in Vasant Kunj, this new Asian joint is a delivery only restaurant. The downside being they have no in-house service, but the compensate by staying open till 4 am! So if you're still up binge-watching tv shows and get a craving for Asian cuisine, give them a call. They have a pretty vast menu. Starting with soups, the Sweet Corn Soup never fails to impress (I prefer adding chicken to mine). As for salads, Som Tam (raw papaya salad) has always been a favourite. For starters try their Crispy Honey Chicken. Not a fan of their dim sums. Moving on to mains, veggies go for Pok Choy And Braised Shitake In Sesame Oil. Meat eaters, try the Lamb In Shezwan Sauce or Kung Pao Chicken. Not a fan of seafood but do have a look at thier options if you're into that. Mix these up with rice or noodles. I prefer the Thai basil rice. For those looking for a more simple complete meal package have one of thier bowl meals. Safe Bet is Khao Suey. If you want to take it up a notch get into your Master Chef mode as you BYOB (Build Your Own Bowl). With this option, you get to choose your Base (6 options), Sauce (7 options), Main Ingredient (Tofu, Egg and 5 other non-veg options), Veggie Toppings (12 options) and Garnish (6 options). The combinations are endless and only limited by your imagination. You could probably just live off these for an entire month and still not have had every possible combination. To end your meal on a sweet note, go for the Dark Chocolate Fudge. First-Hand Experience: Carl's Jr. in Select Citywalk I had heard about in pop culture. Read about it in magazines. Seen it online. And now I've finally tasted it. Well, I say taste because that's all I did. Wasn't all that hungry when we went in so we ate light. Carl's Jr. is relatively new to Delhi NCR. With there being quite a bit of competition in the market, they do need something to make them stand out and they've managed to do just that. Other than the fact that they serve mutton burgers, they also have their bottomless soft drinks. Yes. Bottomless. As in unlimited refills. As in you can drink as much as you possibly want to. No. You can't share a cup amongst the two of you. But individually, you can drink non-stop. And that's just the beginning. Unlike the other fast food joints, this one serves beer. Yaaaaaaas. So you can now eat your favourite burger with a glass of chilled beer. Or just some fried chicken. We weren't in the mood for a full-fledged meal so between the two of us we ordered a medium Wasabi Fries, Chicken Tenders and a small drink (no point ordering a medium or a large since you have unlimited refills, unless you're too lazy to go for refills or your ego won't allow you to order a small drink). The chicken tenders were okay. The dip went well with it. The real king was the Wasabi Fries. That was quite possibly one of the best damn fries I've had in a while. Usually, most of these fast food joints serve the same generic frozen fries and are hard to differentiate from one another. However, Carl's Jr. wins in this department because they've managed to come up with this extra ingredient they serve with it. Wasabi Power. That's not the name for the powder that they serve with though they should call it that (it's simply Wasabi Fries I guess, since they didn't have a separate option for just ordering the said powder, unlike in Mc Donalds where they let you order extra Piri-Piri sachets, but then again that's not available all year round for some stupid reason. This is also where Mc Donalds fail). Even though the fries is brilliant (thanks to the wasabi flavoured powder. Caution: Not all people like wasabi flavoured stuff, or Piri-Piri fries for that matter), the serving size was ridiculously small. We ordered a medium. It had 24 pieces of fried potato sticks. Yes. 24. Like the famous TV show that Anil Kapoor (yes, the Mr.India actor) played a villain in for a season in the US. Which was later Indianised and Anil Kapoor again starred in it, this time playing the hero. So, yes. 24 pieces. I'm no potato specialist but come on. Give us a break. There should be a law against servings of Fries being so less. I wonder what the small size would get us. Probably 12 pieces. One less than the number of fingers Hrithik Roshan has. Talking about his fingers, he could do a great Thumbs Up commercial. Buy one large Thumbs Up and get a small one free. Jokes. Anyhow enough with the Bollywood references and sorry Hrithik if you're reading this (the chances of which are one in a gazillion). That being said, we choose poorly on the choice of drink as well. Ice tea. Their watered down version had us regretting our decision and made sure that on our next visit we'd just choose the generic cola. The food they served to us was done in minutes and left us feeling a little empty as we'd expected more alu on our plate. To compensate we refilled the cup 10 times. Yes. We drank two litres. Later in the toilet, I actually saw ice tea shoot out of me. Kidding. We just took two refills. And no. No ice tea happened in the toilet. That was a joke. In the end, I left the place with mixed feelings as the Wasabi Fries had left in awe as to have discovered a new found love for fries yet the quantity had me cringing as having to spend so much for Alu. For Potato. POTATO. Also, I've made up my mind on one thing. I'm going back someday just to see how many refills I can do on the bottomless drink. Just really curious if I can make the Ice Tea thing happen in the loo. Address: Back Wing, Southern Park, Select Citywalk Mall, Saket, New Delh Contact: 011 33106018 Cost: Rs.466 (for all that we ordered above. If you're hungry expect to spend Rs.500 per person. Or maybe I just eat alot) Explore More: https://www.delhipedia.com/Home/Category/Restaurant& Bar
